Pulp Sculpting
I spent countless hours as a child molding items from wadded up paper. Over time paper molding grew into armatures for my pulp sculpting. Working with different papers allows diverse ideas and the finest details. My goal is to make every sculpture from nothing but paper in different forms. Sculpting completely from paper has taught me the importance of being patient. Each stage of the drying process has its own unique purpose. I have had many projects take on its own personality due to a shift or alterations during drying. It’s these flaws that many times add the character I love the most.
A blank sheet of paper to some is the anticipation of words to take the reader on a journey or adventure. To me a blank sheet of paper is the start of an adventure of shape, consistency, and color.
