“Chasing Frogs”

I wanted to create a texture similar to stone made entirely from paper. The dye was made from clay and dirt. The inside uses handmade papers with handwritten sayings I used to raise my own children.

My grandchildren were the inspiration behind this piece. As I watched them grow, I struggled to figure out what my new role was to be. In the end…It was simple...Remind them to not take themselves too seriously, and always make time to dance with the dragonflies and chase after frogs!
